Mystique Avocado wallpaper by Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen
This week, LRM Interior Design’s Hillary Nichols has been inspired by the fun and eclectic wallpapers she found on burkedecor.com.
“I love the use of bright and complex colors, metallics and bold patterns, and how many of these papers have an ethnic flair but with a modern twist,” says Hillary.
If you decide to use one of these statement wallpapers, LRMID suggests pairing it with simple, clean-lined pieces of furniture. Let the wallpaper shine without the furniture trying to compete for attention! Also remember, it’s not necessary to cover an entire room with wallpaper–it’s fun to discover key areas in your home where wallpaper can create interest.
Hillary says: “Wallpaper is great way to transform your powder room into a little jewel box!” Hillary suggests installing wallpaper in a bedroom on a single wall behind the bed; in a little window seat nook; or paper the ceiling and pair it with crown moulding.
Hillary has picked out two of her favorites from Burke Decor: Boheme, an updated 70s-style print; and Mystique Avocado, an exuberant pattern on a green background, designed by flamboyant British designer Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen. Find your own favorites on burkedecor.com, but if you’re not brave enough to choose the best location for it in your house, call LRM Interior Design for a consultation!
