Kari Seydewitz, designer for LRM Interior Design, was inspired last week by one of LRMID’s previous projects. Lisa McDennon and her team remodeled this Aliso Viejo house with a Mediterranean feel, with a lot of decorative tile, rich colors, detailed cabinetry and unique lighting fixtures.

In the home’s guest bathroom, Kari’s eye was drawn to the ornate tile border above the stone wall tile that echoed the shape of the mirror’s frame. Both the hanging light fixtures and the studded cabinet doors give a Moorish feel to the bathroom. “This is a good example of how a room’s decor can set a mood,” says Kari. Rooms, especially ones like bedrooms and bathrooms, can be created as a calming retreat, and creating that feeling or mood is important.
