November 17th, 2009—Candles lit the entryway and soft music filled the air of LRM Interior Design’s studio in Laguna Beach, California as guests arrived at the party, arranged for a special announcement.

Lisa Rachelle McDennon and her team greeted guests, who included some of Orange County’s top architect and construction firms as well as LRM Interior Design’s long-standing clientele. Often, clients want to update the design in a room, but want to keep the same color scheme. At that point, it’s up to the designer to create a look that combines the client’s wants with a fresh look that will suit the room, the client—and the budget. Lisa McDennon and her team at LRM Interior Design have faced this conundrum before.

All colors can be interpreted into a multitude of shades, including the clients’ favorite: pink and green. Dusty rose and hunter green had been used previously in the room chosen for a redesign, and Lisa knew it was time to update this classic pairing. (read the rest of this post…)

Who says that good design has to cost a lot of money? Not Kravet.

The furniture and fabric company Kravet has introduced kravetsmart, a new brand which sets out to prove that beautiful interior design doesn’t have to cost the earth.

Kravetsmart will offer fabrics and  trimmings, called “smartfabrics,”  will be offered in a full spectrum of textures, patterns and colors. The brand’s “smartweaves” will launch with a set of six color books featuring the palettes Pebble and Pepper, Cocoa and Sangria, Turquoise and Seaspray. (read the rest of this post…)
