Everyone at LRM Interior Design is loving the Jacques Garcia Collection from Baker Furniture, especially Lisa McDennon and Kari Seydewitz.
“The lines of this collection are so clean, yet fresh and contemporary,” says Lisa McDennon, principal of LRMID. “I love the curves and detailing on the Saint-Tropez cocktail table and the Madrague lamp table.”
The Baker company has been making fine furniture since the 1920s, creating pieces that are “fashionable, collectible and superbly crafted in the Old World way,” as Baker puts it. Not one to rest on the laurels of their reputation, Baker has brought Jacques Garcia Collection to the United States in 2004.
Garcia has been commissioned for interior design projects all over the world, including his own home Champ de Bataille, a 17th century chateau and gardens that took him 10 years to restore and design. Other projects, both residential and commercial, have taken him to New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Baden Baden, Beirut and of course, his native France.
Jacques Garcia is not one to tie himself down to one source of inspiration, and draws from many styles, including Egyptian revival and the extravagance of Napoleon III.
All pieces from the Jacques Garcia Collection are built to the same exemplary standards as all Baker furniture, and Lisa is looking forward to a project where she can use one of these beautiful, monochrome pieces.
