LRM Interior Design proudly presents the first of their Top Five Faves blogs. We are starting off with the topic of side or occasional tables that we love! Of course, it was so hard to whittle the list down to just five, but we did our best to present the five best table that the industry has to offer, from many talented furniture designers. So, with no further ado, let’s begin:
Hershey Table from Corbin Bronze
Top Fave Number One: Lisa McDennon’s choice was this uniquely shaped hammered bronze table from Corbin Bronze. Not surprisingly, it’s called the Hershey Table, and indeed the base looks just like the delicious Hershey’s Kiss™. This table could be tucked in the corner or next to a chair, where its unconventional shape could be discovered by the observant viewer. Or, an interior designer of Lisa’s caliber could design a whole room around the beauty, color and form of this chair. She has done it before with a single lamp! Michelin Table by Michael Gary Furniture
Top Fave Number Two: Valerie Hoisington chose a curvaceous side table from Michael Gary Furniture. This piece is aptly named the “Michelin Side Table,” as it looks just like the Michelin Man, but with a much thinner waist. It can be custom made in different sizes and finishes, but it is sold regularly in just two sizes: 22-inches high with a 14-inch diameter, or 22-inches high with a wider 18-inch diameter. Albemarle Tray Table by Julian Chichester
Top Fave Number Three: Senior Designer Jan Smith chose the Albemarle Tray Table from Julian Chichester. This simple tray, standing 23-inches high and a perfect 18-inches square, features an aged bronze-finished frame with the top tray in a light limed oak. The tray that sits on the top of the tray is removable—which makes sense as Julian Chichester is an English designer, and they do like their tea trays. “The scale and function of this clean-lined table is perfect,” says Jan. Melody Nesting Tables by Susan Fanfa Designs
Top Fave Number Four: Nesting tables are an inspired idea—one table with usually two, smaller but otherwise identical tables tucked underneath it. Don’t usually have much space? Keep them tucked up and away most of the time. When company comes over, presto magic! You have side tables for three. Melody, the contemporary nesting tables that Kari Seydewitz chose are sleek and refined, by Susan Fanfa Designs. The tables come in a multitude of choices for metal and wood finishes, including the stainless steel and Macassar ebony, shown here. The Melody can be customized for any project. Vintage Foyer Table by Restoration Hardware
Top Fave Number Five: And last but not least, the Vintage Foyer table from Restoration Hardware. The textured patina of the finish on this sturdy table was what drew Kristen Rusert to it. Although the table is new, it is handcrafted to give it the appearance of a family heirloom, with a hand-turned, solid wood base and a handpainted, cracked finish.
