We Won, Third Year Straight at ASID OC Design Awards 2011!

We are officially over the moon! For the third year running, our bustling design firm, LRM Interior Design, has taken home awards from the ASID OC’s annual Design Awards! This year’s was held on September 11, 2011 at the historic Mission San Juan Capistrano. Although Lisa McDennon, our esteemed leader, has always had a bit of a competitive streak, she only entered our work for the first time three years ago, and has won a total of four Gold awards during that time. Often, clients want to update the design in a room, but want to keep the same color scheme. At that point, it’s up to the designer to create a look that combines the client’s wants with a fresh look that will suit the room, the client—and the budget. Lisa McDennon and her team at LRM Interior Design have faced this conundrum before.

All colors can be interpreted into a multitude of shades, including the clients’ favorite: pink and green. Dusty rose and hunter green had been used previously in the room chosen for a redesign, and Lisa knew it was time to update this classic pairing. (read the rest of this post…)

LRM Interior Design‘s Senior Designer Jan Smith‘s Inspiration for this week was taken from a quote from Lisa McDennon. The quote is on the “About LRM” page on the website, and reads: “Drawings help us communicate with the client – and the most important thing is being able to listen well and communicate with each other.
